10Israeli drone strikes kill seven World Central Kitchen aid workers
- Three precision strikes, one vehicle after another, chasing survivors down the road.
- The convoy's route was pre-approved by the army that destroyed it.
- Seven aid workers from five countries, killed delivering food Israel had cleared.
On 1 April 2024, three successive Israeli drone strikes hit a clearly marked World Central Kitchen convoy near Deir al-Balah, Gaza, killing seven aid workers from Australia, Poland, the United Kingdom, Palestine, and a US-Canada dual citizen, even though the charity said it had coordinated the route with the Israeli military. The Israel Defense Forces acknowledged the convoy traveled a preapproved, deconflicted route, called the attack a grave mistake stemming from misidentification, and dismissed two officers, while WCK and the victims' home governments rejected the internal inquiry and demanded an independent investigation.
