Six-year-old Hind Rajab was killed on 29 January 2024 along with six family members when, according to the Palestine Red Crescent Society and subsequent investigations, Israeli tank fire struck the car in which they were fleeing Gaza City's Tal al-Hawa neighborhood; two Red Crescent paramedics dispatched to rescue her after she spent hours on the phone with emergency dispatchers were also killed when their ambulance was struck. Investigations by Forensic Architecture, The Washington Post, and Sky News concluded that Israeli tanks were present at the scene and that one likely fired 335 rounds into the car from close range, contradicting the Israeli military's initial claim that its forces were not in the area.
